Youth Mentorship in Your Transition to University

I hope you are doing well during these uncertain and challenging times. My name is Harjot, and I am a third-year student at the University of British Columbia, pursuing an honours degree in science.
I am emailing you today to let you know of a student-led initiative I have recently started called the Youth Leading Youth Mentorship Program. The goal of this mentorship program is to bridge the gap between high school students and university students to help strengthen high school students’ understanding of the university experience, both academically and socially.
What inspired me to start this program was the lack of communication between high school students and university students that I had observed when I was in high school. I recall being keen on talking to undergraduate students from UBC, but having a difficult time figuring out who to approach and how to reach out.

To elaborate, we are a team of highly motivated student mentors that aspire to answer any questions students may have in a one-on-one online setting regarding any universities and colleges in the Lower Mainland. If you believe students would be interested in participating in this program, I have attached a detailed document that you can forward to those individuals who will be graduating this year or entering grades 11 or 12 in the fall of 2020.
I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Best regards,
Harjot Uppal
