Happy November Friends!
Where did October go? I’ve had a whirl-wind month travelling Western Canada, getting to see many of you and your students! I have loved getting to meet so many of you and chat with your students. It has been so fun introducing many students to Columbia and hear what they are thinking about doing after High School. You’ve got great students!
While November is less busy (for me) I still have some fun events in BC this month – dates are at the bottom of this email, I’d love to see you there! I always find November to be an odd month as we are preparing for the Christmas season – even though it is a month away. So, I’m praying you have pockets of rest and refreshment.

Come to a BEARCATS GAME !
Our Bearcats are made up of men’s and women’s volleyball and men’s and women’s basketball teams attitude. Our athletes approach their sport with a competitive, Christ- Centered game and team.
We host home games for all four teams several weekends into the end of February. We would *love* to have you join us! Bring yourself, your family & friends, or bring a whole group!
If you are interested in bringing a group (youth group, high school class, small group – whatever!), just hit reply to this email and we would love to host you and make it *really* affordable for you to join us!
Also, if you have athletes in your high schools who would like to continue to play basketball or volleyball at a college level – encourage them to check out our recruitment page. It goes straight to our coaches so we can start the conversation with them about joining the Bearcats!

Why “Intro to Self-Management” is a course at Columbia
As I continue to get to know Columbia, I am getting to know our core classes and the ones that make our programs unique. As I talk to teachers, parents and even students, the concern is present: “Is this student ready for College?”
By the time they arrive in September, they often are, but this class really works to help students see their time and resources with a lens of stewardship.
“Intro into Self-Management” is a core class for both our Quest and Applied Leadership programs, but is an open elective to everyone else.
